Application for Intel Processors - K12LTSP Terminal Project

How can my school participate?

  1. Buy your workstation hardware from one of the approved vendors (or) simply supply us with a copy of your invoice for workstation hardware order from any other vendor.

  2. Send us a copy of your invoice and the application (this page...) for free Celeron and/or Xeon CPU's. (20 Celerons and 2 Xeons per school until they are all gone...)

  3. We'll send you the CPU's and a set of installation CD-Roms.

  4. Work with your students to build your server and workstations. For more information on working with students to build and refurbish PC's see www.strut.org .

We have Celeron 366 PPGA 370 that have been donated by Intel through the STRUT (Students Recycling Used Technology) program. These processors are designated for public schools participating in the K12LTSP.org Linux Terminal Server Project.

You may apply for processors in multiples of 10. In addition to this form you will need to include a copy of an invoice for the motherboards and/or pre-system cases you purchased for your terminals. Applications without copies of invoices will not be approved.

TERMS:

  • Processors are NEW stock from Intel. However, they have no warranty. Intel will not provide support in any way for problems or questions you have regarding their use. DO NOT contact Intel for technical support. If you have a defective CPU or need support contact Paul Nelson pnelson@riverdale.k12.or.us . We will answer your questions and/or send you a replacement. (Subject to availability...)

  • Processors are to be used by your school. They may not be resold. They are for use in the K12LTSP Terminal project. EXAMPLE: If we find processors showing up on E-Bay with the serial #'s of those donated to your school you will be required to return of all cpu's. Your application indicates your acceptance of this policy.

  • You agree to pay $10 shipping for each set of 10 processors. i.e. Shipping for 20 cpu's = $20. We will combine orders to reduce shipping costs if possible.

  • It is expected that you will engage students in building your terminals and installing your systems. See our on-line network administration course at: http://www.riverdale.k12.or.us/linux/netadmin/
See http://www.strut.org for more info on refurbishing PC's with students.

  • You may build systems for use in other schools. You may not however sell completed systems.
